The Company Logo
The company logo is an outline of a steamship on a blue and red shield with white letters. The ship is the Theodore Roosevelt, a vessel designed for Rear Admiral Robert Peary’s arctic exploration. Its construction began in 1904 on Verona Island, Maine (home to the owner of Seaboard Security and her husband) and was launched on March 23, 1905. Rear Admiral Peary used the ship to carry his expedition to Ellesmere Island in the Canadian Arctic Ocean in September 1908. After spending the winter camped on the island, Peary, 25 other men, 19 sledges and 133 dogs made their way across the arctic ice and became the first to reach the North Pole on April 6, 1909.
